Looking back in history, the defining battle of the War of 1812 happened in September. On the 13th no less. From it, along with the death and destruction, we got a national icon, our flag and the national anthem. Oh Say Can You See, how busy we were that we didn’t get to these things until forty plus years in our inception?
Now, I am finding that September is the month that many publishing houses close their unsolicited readings. I am putting on my helmet (it goes with my bike), planting my butt in my old office chair instead of planting flowers around the porch, and going to battle with my manuscripts.
